On Friday and Saturday, August 27th and 28th 2010, The Resurrection Project and the Pilsen community will liven up the cul-de-sac at 18th Place and Paulina with the color and music of Mexico in its 9th Annual Tardes en el Zócalo festival.
Tardes en El Zócalo celebrates the art and vibrancy of our Mexican community. This year, as The Resurrection Project celebrates its 20th anniversary, Tardes en El Zócalo will highlight our history of building relationships and creating healthy communities.
On Fridayevening we will host a Public Mass featuring Bishop Manz and the St. Pius V Parish Choir, followed by a Convivencia (a communal dinner), a performance by Rondalla Voces Romanticas, a sneak peak at Tony and Janina's Weddding, a story about immigration and to close a special presentation of the classic movie Marcelino, Pan y Vino. The fun starts at 5:00pm.
Bring all your family and friends to enjoy two evenings of singing, dancing, and music-playing from area musicians and performers, kids activities and authentic Mexican treats from local restaurants.
