Many Hands Make Light Work: TRP Volunteers Celebrated
Xavier McElrath-bey, Resurrection Basketball League volunteer, gives a testimony at the Volunteer Recognition Reception.
We had a busy summer at TRP: Pros Arts muralistas were painting away, neighborhood youth were hoopin' it up on Friday evenings at Resurrection Basketball League, our New Americans Initiative and Reach 2010 health awareness workshops were in full swing... and that's just a fraction of the activity that went on.
We know we can't do all the work that we do without dozens of volunteers dedicated to creating healthy communities, and we wanted to offer our thanks to all these great people. On September 21st, over 90 staff, board, and volunteers gathered at La Fogata Village Restaurant for food, fellowship, and celebration of the hard work of everyone in the room.
Appetizers and testimonies were shared as all were again reminded of the wide variety of ways that TRP works to create healthy communities in Pilsen, Little Village, and Back of the Yards. It was great to celebrate with everyone! Thanks again to everyone who contributes their time, effort, and energy to TRP's activities... we couldn't get it done without you!
