Social Ministry Action and Reflection Teams

SMART is a unique organizing strategy we developed as a way to formalize leadership teams in each of these institutions by giving community members a way to implement the social justice teachings of their faith through their parish.

The goal of SMART is to be recognized as the “social justice ministry” in each parish and have its members (8-10 per team) participate in the leadership formation, development, civic engagement, and issue work opportunities that TRP helps facilitate.

SMART teams will also assist in identifying fellow leaders as well as collective issues to work on (i.e. immigration, health, safety, and others).
