Saving a Home: One Client's Story

One of TRP’s recent clients, Christian, encountered great financial hardship when he lost the job he held for over 15 years.  When Christian arrived at TRP, he was on the verge of losing his home through foreclosure, which was especially painful due to fact that his home had been made handicap-accessible for his daughter.  TRP’s counselors began by helping Christian set a budget plan and working with his lender to re-negotiate his mortgage.  Today, Christian has a new job and will soon be closing on a new mortgage with his same lender.  “If it wasn’t for TRP, I know I would have lost my home, and I don’t know where I would have gone,” Christian observed.  “Thanks to their help, I have a fresh start, I’m able to stay in my home, and my daughter can stay in a home where she is safe and comfortable and can be more independent.”
