Miracle housing for seniors going forward!

Casa Maravilla

On December 23rd 2008, TRP closed Casa Maravilla, our senior housing development located in Pilsen. This $20 million project will bring affordable housing opportunities to Pilsen’s senior citizens is a significant milestone for the organization, especially in a year infamous for its economic downturns.

“Pilsen residents have a hard time finding decent, affordable places to live,” shared Guacolda Reyes, Deputy Director of Community Development. "We are taking a parcel of land that was vacant and making it into an asset for the community." TRP expects the project to take two years to complete.

Once finished, Casa Maravilla will offer 73 units of affordable senior housing at 2021 S. Morgan, adjacent to another Resurrection Project development, Casa Morelos (a 45 unit family affordable housing complex expected to be completed next summer). Both developments are strategically located right next to Alivio Medical Center, a bilingual medical facility that provides care to the uninsured and underinsured.

Casa Maravilla is also incorporating various green elements into the design including: water permeable paving, highly efficient mechanical systems, green roofing, green insulation, and geothermal heating and cooling systems, which use pumps buried in the ground to heat or cool the air. All these green features are not only designed to reduce our environmental impact, but also to help residents cope with the rising costs of utilities.

Upon completion of construction at each location, TRP will start leasing units.  In the interim, those interested can contact our property management division and start the application process.
